Yep! Finally a 200-year-old ban on women wearing trousers has been overturned by French Government. Not that this had stopped Parisian women wearing trousers in the past decades, mind you!
But apparently a legal notice imposed in November, 1800 required women to ask the permission of local police if they wanted to "dress like a man and wear trousers". The purpose of such a law? Preventing women doing certain jobs.
