Whereas 'understanding' the world of clothes and fashion comes rather easy to me, I happen to be a mess when it comes to cosmetics and other body products. Whilst loving it on others, 'makeup' is something I usually try to avoid as much as possible, unless it's an occassion which really necessitates defined eyes and rosy cheekbones.
Hence, this lack of practice and experience means that I've never got quite to really got to comprehend the colourful world of cosmetics. Discovering the difference between a foundation and concealer only a few months ago is a case in point.
